Jean Jones' art bio

Jean Jones originally hails from Manhattan, New York. In her youth and young adulthood, she lived through some harrowing times. Now, she is thriving with the love from her husband and their daughter. Her earliest memory of art was of being given a crayon and shown the beauties of primary colors at school. Since then, she has always found ways to express her life through art.

Two of Jones’ painting hang by our Kindness Café.

Currently being exhibited in the Ballard Food Bank lobby, you can see some pieces from her “blue period” using blue and dark hues only, that she made while she was young and experiencing hard times. Now living a happier life, vibrant colors have returned to her palette. She uses watercolor to depict scenes, animals, and individuals that inspire her, layering paint to create new textures and depth to her pieces. Her latest inspirations are the boats and ferries that frequent the Puget Sound.

Jones is elated to share her art with the world, and she thanks everyone who takes the time to enjoy her work. If you are curious about purchasing her work, please reach out to lewisjones326@yahoo.com.
